"The black words on the white paper are the soul laid bare." - Guy de Maupassant
Black. "Enfant terrible" of colors with a rich and fascinating history. The color of fertile land, of the night.
Instinctively one thinks of the negative aspects of black: childish fears, darkness, death. If we observe it, however, without any prejudice and with due attention, it becomes the beginning of a journey, aimed at the discovery and knowledge of the innumerable ways of human existence. All this is extraordinarily expressed in the body of Andreas McMuller's production. An eclectic, an all-round artist who, thanks to an innate passion and meticulous study conducted over the years, has managed to put his talent to good use, experimenting in various photographic genres. Landscapes or people, his gaze always goes beyond, overcoming in material boundaries and the prejudices that the appearance, with banality, might suggest. Images that express his "I", which generate emotions and feelings.
For Andreas the camera has no more secrets, with it he established a symbiotic, intimate relationship, which always allows him to undertake exciting journeys, observations and research, to discover new creative stimuli.
With elegance and refinement, his art becomes dense with lyricism and charm
When he puts the lens on the female body Andreas, in each photo, with acute sensitivity, he overcomes the obvious appearance that the sensuality of the flesh provides. His shots do not pretend to immortalize the fairer sex, in order to show the attractive and palpitating side of mere eroticism. The objective returns images of women, in their authentic beauty and intimacy. Harmony and elegance of forms, where the visible, is only the pretext to delve into the deep sense of things. Black, if seen in its essence, allows us to go beyond darkness, beyond the indefinite, beyond the void.
Visual masterpieces where the artist, with spontaneity, succeeds in capturing and seducing the mind and the heart of the observer.
